There are many charities in today’s society that serve a wonderful purpose and touch people in a profound way. Here are two in the Raleigh area that have a special meaning to me and I am fortunate enough to share them with you. Please me if you have contributed so that I may recognize you in the sponsors section.

This is a small community charity that serves as the home for twenty two children who have severe developmental disabilities. These children range in age from birth to six years old and require 24-hour nursing care. To my surprise, many children at Hilltop were born without disability. Some of the children’s disability are the result of accidents or unfortunate circumstances - choking, bad falls or strokes. The director of Hilltop Home has served since its inception, over 47 years.

Wake SPCA

This charity is near and dear to me since our child “Buddy” came from the SPCA. One trip to the SPCA can change your life forever. Please join me in helping this organization create a “Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals”.

I am a triathlete that has just recently gotten back into the sport after having kids. I stay at home with my children (3 yrs. and almost 1 yr.) as well as work from home part time as a graphics/web developer for a PR firm in Raleigh. I am currently doing sprint distance triathlons, but would like to be doing Oylmpic/International distances by end of season 07/ season 08 and hopefully do my first 1/2 Ironman by 09 season.
